Mr. Rogers

Framed by a sand arch, 15-year-old Tyle Rogers of San Francisco tries his skills at skim boarding on Kailua Beach. What I'm noticing is what a small world it is on certain parts of the island: Tyle's sister, Tanya, made the turtle sand sculpture shown on my blog of 7/31. Tyle and Tanya's father Tracy (notice the theme of names that start with T) saw the blog and emailed me that both of his children took a sand sculpting class on Maui a few years ago and they've been making beautiful art in the sand ever since. I just happened to photograph both pieces on two different days at two different locations.
